Privacy Policy

The short version

Your audio never leaves your computer. WaveForge decodes, analyses and renders your files entirely inside your browser. There is no upload step, and no copy of your music, artwork or exported video is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.

The only personal data we hold is what is needed to run an account and take payment: your email address and your subscription status.

What we collect

• Account details. When you create an account, our authentication provider Clerk stores your email address, a password hash or third-party sign-in identifier, and basic profile fields.
• Usage counters. Free accounts get three demo recordings per 24 hours. To enforce that we store a small counter against your account — a date and a number. Nothing about the audio itself.
• Subscription status. Whether your subscription is active, plus the customer and subscription identifiers issued by Stripe.
• Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records standard request logs including IP address and user agent, for security and reliability.

What we never collect

• Your audio files, or any analysis derived from them.
• Cover art, background images or title text you add to a video.
• The videos you export. They are saved directly to your own device.
• Full card numbers. Payment details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and are never seen by, or transmitted through, WaveForge.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use three processors, each only for the function described:

• Clerk — accounts and authentication.
• Stripe — subscription payments and billing.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.

Our pages also load a webfont from Google Fonts. That request reveals your IP address to Google in the same way as loading any third-party asset.

Cookies

WaveForge sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Clerk sets cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, and Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout pages for fraud prevention.

Retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, the associated record with Clerk is removed. Stripe retains billing records for as long as its own legal and tax obligations require, independent of us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because the amount of data involved is small, the fastest route for any of these is simply to email us.

Children

WaveForge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we handle your data, notify account holders by email.
