No watermark means no watermark
This is worth stating plainly, because almost nothing else in this category does it: WaveForge never writes a logo, a URL or a "made with" badge into your video. Not on the subscription, and not on the free demo either.
The usual pattern for a free tier is to hand you a finished render with branding burned into the corner, so the only way to get a clean file is to pay. The free tier here produces exactly the same pixels the paid one does — what you are paying for is length and resolution, not the removal of something deliberately added.
What the free tier actually gives you
A free account gets three thirty-second recordings every 24 hours at up to 1080p. Everything on the creative side is unlocked: all 31 styles, the full layer stack, all four post-processing effects, .lrc lyric sync, saveable Looks, every colour control, titles, artist names and cover art, and all three aspect ratios — landscape, vertical and square. No card is required to create one.
That vertical format matters more than it sounds. The free ceiling is 1080p, and a full 1080 × 1920 vertical frame comes in exactly at it, so short-form clips are not downgraded on the free tier at all.
For a Spotify Canvas, which maxes out at eight seconds, or a TikTok hook clip, that is often the entire job — a free recording is already the finished asset, at full size, with nothing stamped on it.
What the $20 subscription is actually for
The subscription lifts limits rather than unlocking features: full-length tracks with no thirty-second cap, no daily recording count, and resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 at 60fps. There is no creative feature behind the paywall — the layer stack, the effects and the lyric tools are the same on both plans.
That is the honest boundary. If you are uploading a full track to YouTube in 4K, that is the tier you need. If you are cutting vertical clips under thirty seconds, the free one may genuinely be enough, and that is fine.
Nothing is uploaded either
The other thing free tools tend to take in exchange is your file. WaveForge decodes, analyses and renders entirely inside your browser, so your audio never reaches a server — there is nothing to upload, nothing queued behind other people, and no copy of an unreleased track sitting somewhere you do not control.
The exported video is written straight to your own downloads folder. There is no cloud library, which also means there is nothing to lose access to later.

Yes. Nothing is written onto the video at any tier. The free demo limits how long and how often you can record, not what the finished file looks like.
Do I have to enter a card to use the free tier?

Are any features locked behind the subscription?
No creative ones. The layer stack, all 31 styles, bloom, chromatic aberration, motion blur, grain, .lrc lyric sync, saved Looks, custom colours, text and logo all work on the free demo exactly as they do on the paid plan. What the subscription changes is recording length, resolution, frame rate and how many you can make per day.
Who owns the videos I export?
You do. Every video WaveForge generates is yours to keep and use, with no watermark. Worth being clear on one thing though: WaveForge visualizes whatever audio you give it — if that audio is someone else’s copyrighted song, that remains a question about the song itself, whatever tool made the video.
How do I cancel if I do subscribe?
There is a cancel button inside the app. It takes effect immediately, and you are not asked to email anyone.
