What a music visualizer actually does
A music visualizer reads the frequency content of a track — the low end from the kick and bass, the midrange where vocals and melody sit, the high end carrying hats and air — and drives a moving image from those numbers. When the bass hits, something moves. When the hats come in, the edges light up.
The difference between a good visualizer and a bad one is whether the motion follows the music or just wobbles near it. WaveForge analyses the whole file before it draws a single frame, so the response is locked to the audio rather than chasing it.
Thirty-one styles, and you can stack them
The library spans six families: spectrum bars, radial and mirrored forms, waveform traces, 3D scenes like warp starfields and audio terrain, particle systems, and generative art that redraws itself as the track moves.
They are not mutually exclusive. The layer stack composites as many as you want — a particle field behind the spectrum, sparks in front of it, lyrics and a logo over the top — each with its own blend mode, opacity, colour offset and transform. Rotation, scale and mirroring apply to every style, so each one is a family of shapes rather than a fixed picture.
Every style takes your own colours, and the palette can react to loudness so the ramp shifts on the hits. There are preset palettes if you want to move fast, full manual control if you are matching cover art, and any finished combination can be saved as a Look and reloaded on the next track.
It runs on your machine, not a server
Decoding, analysis and rendering all happen in your browser. Your audio never leaves your computer, which means there is no upload wait, no queue behind other people, and no copy of your unreleased track sitting on someone else’s server.
